Summer in Jackson Hole

Mountain Biking

From thrilling downhill trails to leisurely pathways and anything in between, Jackson and the surrounding national parks and forests have everything you need. And the town of Jackson is bike savvy, with Friends of Pathways bikeways that radiate across the Hole.

Fishing

Fall Creek, Fish Creek, the Gros Ventre, the Snake—these are the waterways of the West in Jackson Hole. There’s nothing like hooking a cutthroat trout while standing knee-deep in the clearest water you’ve ever seen. Sound enticing? Hiking

There’s a reason the locals always have on shorts and a hat. And that ubiquitous backpack? It holds hiking shoes or sandals, a water bottle and a rain jacket. Such is summer in Jackson, where a trail beckons from every corner.

Water Sports

You can go big or you can go placid. The waterways of the West offer a full menu of choices from a guided wildlife-viewing raft trip at sunset in Grand Teton National Park to whitewater thrills at Lunch Counter and Taco Hole on the Snake River.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

With an aerial tram, a bungee trampoline, scheduled hot-air balloon rides, and mountain biking with lift access, the Teton Village area provides plenty of fun just 12 miles west of Jackson.

Rodeo

Brahma bulls, little dogies, bucking broncos and a taste of the old West are a ten-minute walk from our front door. Wednesday and Saturday nights throughout the summer.

Paragliding

Fly with the eagles when you strap in for a guided paragliding trip off the tip of Snow King Mountain. There are numerous buttes around town that offer perfect conditions and spectacular views.

This Land Is Your Land

Jackson Hole stays busy enjoying all nature has created.

And from early May to the first freeze in October, it is one of the most glorious places on earth. The hospitality team at Snow King Resort Hotel knows this, and our staff can help you arrange entire day’s worth of activities. The guided sunrise wildlife expeditions in Grand Teton National Park offer uninterrupted views of the Teton glaciers and sightings of elk, bear, marmot and moose. Done by lunch, you can stop in at the historic encampment at Moose, Wyoming, to take lunch on the deck at Dornan’s.

Back in town for the afternoon, there’s time for a hike along the Snow King trails, a dip in our pool, a thrill-ride down the mountain on the Alpine Slide or a cruise through the aspen forests on a mountain bike.

After a short nap and shower, you can retire to Hayden’s Post, our newest restaurant, to choose from selections as varied as Bison Chili, Heirloom Bean Stew, and Elk Bolegnese. A full bar selection wets your whistle before a good night’s sleep, and then you can do it all again tomorrow. The National Wildlife Museum is a five-minute drive from town. The Elk Refuge is a boot-scoot more than a mile from our front door. The chuckwagon dinner is a wagon ride up Cache Creek trail, right behind us. And a ten-minute walk west takes you to the fairgrounds for a full on Western rodeo.
